Our Values

Among the several key Vineyard Values, we want to re-affirm the following three values as particularly important points of focus for the next season in the growth of Guelph Vineyard as a community of believers.

1. Transforming Relationships
We believe that relationships are transforming. We believe that God has called us to real, transparent, authentic and accountable relationship where discipleship and equipping happen and each person’s gifts are expressed for the strengthening of our body and our community. Therefore, we are purposefully called to relational connection. This connection is upward...we relate to God through scripture, prayer, meditation, and worship...and Outward...we connect with one another as we journey through life.

2. “Messengers” of the Good News
We want to carry the good news of the transforming power of Jesus to others. We are called to bring the Kingdom and the healing power of Jesus out into our communities and the world in the way that will be most impacting for the recipient and best suited to our gifts. Such actions might include: acts of service like providing meals, caring for the poor, praying for individuals struggling with sickness, emotional pain, addiction, etc.

3. Everyone plays
Participation. “Doing the stuff” of ministry is transforming both for ourselves and for those who are ministered to. Jesus called the 12 and then the 72 into active ministry, and He also calls us to participate in Kingdom work in a naturally supernatural way. In contrast to a mindset that says only the “professional clergy” do the work of the ministry, we embrace the belief that we all play. We believe that God has called all of us to use our “loaves and fishes” to the best of our ability to see the miraculous happen.
Expectation.  Because we expect to see God work powerfully in both our lives and the lives of people around us, we pursue a practical and experiential understanding of the various means through which God effects His transforming Kingdom work. Things like: the Word of God, Prayer, Intercession, Worship, Prophecy, Deliverance, Relationship, and Communion.
