We seek not only to care for the poor, but also to step out on issues of justice. As a church we are encouraged to listen for the voice of our Good Shepherd and follow him where he leads. We encourage individuals to take the time to listen and to walk out the call God has given them.
Corperately we are presently partnering with Royal City Christian Life Center, a ministry of Royal City Church, located at the historic Chalmers Church, downtown on Quebec Street.
Their vision is:
Daily Bread for Everyone. Substance of Life (Body, Soul, & Spirit).
They work with community partners to narrow the gap between those that are in despair and those who are living healthy normal lives.
One branch of this ministry is Agape Cafe. It is open Monday through Thursday nights from 7-9:30 p.m. and provides a nourishing supper for 80-120 people. It is also a time to make friends and be involved in peoples' lives. We have many volunteers working there throughout the week and also provide the sandwiches every Thursday night for their meal. Four times a year, we contribute to the weekly Saturday Night Community Supper that feeds 150 people. We also support their Celebrate Recovery Program by assisting with worship.
We count it a priviledge to support the wonderful work going on in our city.
We also financially support others advancing the cause of mercy and justice in Guelph, Canada and around the world.
